Conceptual & Engineering Design

Kristal Engineering provides tailored conceptual designs that optimizes client needs and budget. These designs are produced through client engagements such as site visits, meetings and scope of work review to fully understand client needs and purpose.

Different design options could be provided for client selection before detailed engineering such as design calculations, member sizing, material selections and detailed drawings are produced for client approval.

Pipeline Systems (Design, Construction, Installation & Commissioning)

We have capabilities to design pipeline systems to suit the needs of our customers. Our in-house design team could provide the following detailed pipeline engineering deliverables:

- Pipeline design Basis
- Pipeline Route Survey and Selection Report
- Pipeline Wall thickness Calculation and Sizing Report
- Pipeline Alignment Sheets
- Pipeline crossings design and schedule
- Piping Materials Selection
- P&ID of pipelines
- Pressure Regulating and Metering Skid design and P & IDs.
- Valves Datasheet
- Pipeline Mechanical Design Report
- Pipeline Marker Arrangement
- Design of PIG launchers and receivers

Kristal Engineering has experienced Pipeline Construction Management team, Pipe fitters, qualified pipe welders, riggers, coating applicators and quality inspection officers that ensures all procedures approved by client are implemented during the construction phase. This ensures that the construction phase is executed safely, on-time and within budget

Our in-house welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification records based on API 1104 and ASME B31.3 ensures all welds produced during the construction phase are according to international standards, monitored by quality control officers and non destructively tested to ensure the highest quality of welds are produced.

The Installation team ensures all pipeline lifting activities are performed with an approved lift plan and certified lifting equipments and lifting gears. This ensures lift rigging is positioned appropriately on the pipeline section to be lifted to limit the bending of the pipeline during lifting within the acceptable stress limits

The commissioning team ensures that all testing and inspection reports are in place, reviewed and approved by the relevant approval authorities on the project. Flanged connections, if any, have new gaskets with the required rating installed, bolted and torqued to the required values. The pipeline is cleaned, pigged, hydrotested to the required pressure, depressurized & drained, and dried to the approved dew point. A comprehensive pre-commissioning report is produced and added to the test and inspection reports to achieve mechanical completion; the mechanical completion certificate is signed by all parties to begin the pipeline commissioning

Kristal Engineering is also capable of performing inspections on existing pipeline systems by employing non-destructive technologies such as UT thickness measurements and radiographic inspections on suspected corroded areas to ascertain the extent of damage and proffer a solution that is engineering sound and cost effective.

Structural Fabrications including Tank Farms

Kristal Engineering has an in-house team with structural design, fabrication and installation expertise. Our design team handles designs from conceptual stages to detailed engineering phase using CAD softwares such as AutoCAD and Tekla. Upon acceptance a design by a client, detailed drawings including shop drawings for the parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and general arrangement drawings are produced to aid fabrication in the shop and field installations.

The design team is able to handle civil foundations for the structures to be constructed, especially for Tank farms. Our design team is able to size the foundations, provide the minimum concrete strength required, the reinforcement schedule and the concrete mix design to be used to achieve the required concrete strength.

Kristal Engineering has experienced Structural Construction Management team, structural fabricators, qualified pipe welders, riggers, coating applicators and quality inspection officers that ensures all procedures approved are adhered to from the shop fabrication phase to the site erection phase. We have an existing welding procedure specification and procedure qualification records for structural steel (grade S355) based on AWS D1.1 standard which enables our welding and fabrication team to produce quality welds based on AWS D1.1 standard.

There is a seamless transition from the shop fabrication phase to the field erection phase by ensuring there is drawing traceability such that all parts produced in the shop are clearly marked with the part numbers in the drawings for easy identification on the field. This optimizes the erection phase and ensures the field erection is completed safely, on-time, and within budget.

Kristal Engineering could arrange inspection and certification by API or ASME tank inspectors where there is a requirement for the tanks to be certified by either API or ASME Tank Inspectors

Corrosion Control (Grit Blasting & Painting)

Kristal Engineering has the capability to deliver high quality grit blasting and paint application services that extends the life span of pipelines, steel structures and installed equipments. Our compressors, blasting pots, high pressure hoses and nozzles aid in our surface preparation techniques. NACE Level 2 inspector(s) shall perform initial inspections of the surfaces to be grit blasted, oil, grease or adhesive materials if found shall be removed with suitable solvents a per SSPC-SP-1 specification.

Pre-blasting testing such as the Blotter test which ensures compressed air cleanliness and salt contamination test shall be performed by the certified Coating Inspector and shall ensure all test results are within the allowable before blasting.

Grit blasting is performed by our certified and experienced grit blasters. The coating inspector then performs post blasting inspections including surface profile, roughness, dust contamination test, salt contamination test and shall ensure all results are within the allowable before painting could commence.

Painting system to be applied shall be agreed with the client before painting. The coating inspector ensures the mixing of the paint is as per the manufacturer's technical datasheet and the application is strictly done with an airless spray machine or roller.

All required quality inspections shall be done and documented during the paint application process. All these inspections and processes are rigorously followed to ensure all industry standards are met which provides long-term protection and performance.

Mechanical Works and Valve Systems

We provide high quality mechanical works and valve system maintenance and repair services. Our mechanical work services encompasses flange management: where bolted flanges are inspected for potential issues such as leaks, corrosion or damage so that pre-emptive corrective measures can be taken to ensure system integrity.

A tag numbering system is implemented to identify and document details of each flanged connection including size, rating, material, and specific location within the system to be able to tract its maintenance history.

Procurement Services

We provide procurement services to our clients by preparing technical datasheets, material requisitions, identifying & engaging suppliers that manufactures such products, providing third party inspections or FAT activities at supplier facilities to ensure the products are compliant with given specifications before acceptance.

Expediting and logistics services are provided to ensure the products reach client delivering points with high quality and satisfying the schedule and budget targets
